Denmark has recently introduced routine MBW testing on CF infants every three months and report on their experience from the first year in an article by Schmidt and colleagues from the CF centre at Copenhagen. Tests are performed using the wash-in/wash-out technique with 4% SF6 tracer gas controlled by the EXHALYZER®D from ECO MEDICS. They conclude that regular MBW tests are feasible for infants with CF and that they provide a suitable tool to evaluate the effect of CFTR modulator on lung function.
