The so far largest reference data set for nitrogen multiple breath washout (N2MBW) testing has been obtained from an international multi-center study at four pediatric centers in Australia, Canada, Germany and Switzerland. MBW tests were performed on healthy Caucasian school age children from 6-18 years with the EXHALYZER®D device and the SPIROWARE® software version 3.2.1. The data set includes, for example, the mean, upper and lower limits for the lung clearance index at 2.5% (LCI2.5), and at 5% (LCI5), and the moment ratios M1/M0, M2/M0. The data will facilitate interpretation of N2MBW tests in the pediatric clinical practice.
